About the program
Pelvic health conditions are common across both men and women, yet in the Caribbean they are often overlooked, underreported, and poorly addressed. Many individuals live with incontinence, pelvic pain, or sexual dysfunction without seeking help, while clinicians frequently lack the confidence and training to manage these presentations effectively.
This webinar explored a modern, practical approach to pelvic health—moving beyond isolated strengthening to a more integrated model that includes breathing, movement, load, and the nervous system. A key focus was how we teach movement in rehabilitation, introducing a simple framework of control, capacity, and context to help clinicians progress patients from basic coordination through to real-world function and performance.
Using clinical examples such as postnatal athletes, men with pelvic pain, and individuals with urgency, the session demonstrated how this approach can be applied in everyday practice. The overall message was clear: pelvic health is not a niche area, but a fundamental part of rehabilitation, and there is a significant opportunity for clinicians in the Caribbean to develop skills, improve patient outcomes, and lead change in this space.
